Most Strip Club Myths are BS

Legend has it…

Most myths and stereotypes have some basis in fact.  I certainly carried my share of judgments about the industry as a customer.  What’s great about this industry is that it’s a pretty well-kept secret.  Most people will roll their eyes and dismiss a girl just because she’s a stripper.  In my opinion, dancers are intelligent, motivated, and dignified.  It takes a lot of strength to get up there and do what they do, both mentally and physically

Most people assume that the big ol’ bouncer loves to fight and is dumb as dirt.  People in the industry deal with this every day.  We get a good laugh after work talking about all the people who believe they’re superior to us.

As a prospective dancer, you need to be informed about what to believe and what is just conjecture.  By making this information free, I hope more girls realize how lucrative this business really is, and that they don’t have to sacrifice their dignity to earn a great living.  Spread the word and help others take control of their lives.

Don’t Believe What You See on TV

Unfortunately, many people seem to get their worldly education from media formats that, as a general rule, dramatize reality in order to increase their appeal to the public. For example, a show about a precinct of urban police officers, the lead charactersprobably spend the bulk of the episode battling bad guys with guns, chasing suspects in cars, and arguing with their boss, and having sex with hot coworkers. Ask the average police officer how realistically their job is portrayed your favorite cop drama. Mostly likely they’ll laugh, then tick off about 10 fallacies before asking you if you get their point.

Strippers and their workplaces are no different. According to the movies and television, strip clubs are owned primarily by the mafia and crooks. They are dark, seedy, and dirty. The customer base consists of drug dealers, perverts, and psychotics. A fight or gun battle breaks out every night, just to keep things fresh. Strippers spend their night in predictable ways. If they aren’t busy talking to law enforcement, providing valuable clues about Russian gun-runners, they are either planning an after-hours coke orgy, or maliciously sabotaging a coworkers blossoming relationship.

Unfortunately, most people pass judgment on the industry based on these ‘facts.’ You’ve probably heard a lot of negative things about strip clubs, and to a certain degree, these stereotypes have some basis in truth. Want a no hype appraisal of the strip club industry?

We’re going to take a look at the myths surrounding strippers, strip clubs, and the customers who frequent these clubs.
